Temporary AVID Care Customer Service Assistant

AVID® (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit, proven college-readiness system that closes the achievement gap by accelerating all students’ improvement in academic performance. Today, AVID partners with more than 1,100 school districts and is implemented in approximately 6,400 schools in 47 states across the U.S., plus schools in DoDEA, Canada, and Australia.

The Temporary AVID Care Customer Service Assistant is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through world-class, Tier 1 service and support to both external clientele and internal staff via email, phone, and other support channels. The primary function of the position focuses on event support but could also include other diverse areas of product and services support, including, but not limited to, event registration, technical troubleshooting, system access, contract status, payment questions, and data queries.

What we are looking for in the role of AVID Care Customer Service Specialist:

  • Experience with customer service and helping internal and external partners resolve issues
  • Case management/ticketing software experience, and experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, such as Salesforce, is a plus!
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Good listener, empathetic, and patient
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to carry out instructions
  • Ability to maintain a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Ability to apply good judgement, organization, and initiative, and work independently

This is a full-time, temporary position with an anticipated end date of September 2019. This position is not eligible for benefits or paid time off. Employees in this role will accrue paid sick time in compliance with California state law.
