We are always looking for Direct Support Professionals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families. These are challenging and rewarding positions.
Direct Support Professionals work in a number of settings including Community-based Group Homes, Special Education Classrooms, Day Programs, and Vocational Programs (job skill training and job placement). They participate in the direct care and management of clients as prescribed by physician and treatment teams. They provide supervision, safety and crisis management for the client population; complete documentation of client behavior and participation in programming; adhere to the schedule activities; role model positive, mature behavior; utilize proactive behavioral strategies to minimize client crisis and maximize success. Duties and responsibilities of the Direct Support Professionals vary in intensity and frequency depending on the assignment and include, but are not limited to, the following:
Advocacy
Assist clients with achieving personal goals; work on behalf of the client to overcome barriers; help clients participate in activities of their choice; respect client's personal beliefs, choices, and interests
Health Maintenance
Provide care and assistance to promote good health; help clients receive medical care and communicate with medical professionals; administer medications according to physician instructions; record information regarding health events, conditions, and status; provides First Aid/CPR and seeks emergency medical care when needed
Personal Care
Help clients with eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, and toileting; assist clients with their mobility, as necessary
Living Skills Development
Help clients develop living skills such as cooking, money management, household shopping, doing laundry, personal hygiene, etc.; teach work-related skills and job preparedness; record progress on skill development and achievement
Behavior Development
Serve as a role model and mentor, demonstrating desired behaviors; coach clients using approved strategies
Operational Support
Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, group homes, etc.; drive company vehicles to transport clients to their activities; follow policies and procedures

The Residential Instructor position, under general supervision in our Children & Adolescence program, participate in the direct care and plan implementation for clients, as prescribed by physician and treatment teams. In the community group home, they provide supervision, safety and crisis management for the client population; complete documentation of client behavior and participation in programming; adhere to the scheduled activities; role model positive, mature behavior; utilize proactive behavioral strategies to minimize client crisis and maximize success. They report to a program supervisor/ manager. The hours and starting pay rate for this position are:
Wednesday: 12:00pm - 11:00pm ; Thursday and Friday: 2:45pm - 9:00pm; Saturday: 8:30am - 10:30pm
$14.00/hour/37 hours plus overtime available
The minimum training and experience for this position are: A Bachelor's degree in human services; or an Associate's degree and 3 months experience working with children; or be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. and 6 months experience working with children; must be 21 years of age; must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen; must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
