FLSA: Nonexempt
FTE: .37500, Hours/Day: 3.000, Days/Year: 260
Salary Plan, Grade, Step: SCH-School Age hourly, SA5, 1 - SA3, 4
Hourly Rate: $11.12 - $13.89 depending on education and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY Provide assistance to the Director in all aspects of managing the School Age Enrichment Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Site Director, SAE Coordinators and/or Administrator.
Assist Program Director in managing and maintaining daily operations of Before and After School Program. Including but not limited to: program set up, formal attendance and daily schedule.
Practices active supervision and whole area awareness to ensure safety of children.
Assist with planning, preparation and implementation of program activities. Engage students in enrichment activities, games, field trips, and homework.
Is knowledgeable of and maintains appropriate staff-to-child ratio.
Has current knowledge of and maintains all District, SAE, Colorado Department of Human Services and Health Department policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate certificates and training (CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, 15 clock hours, etc.).
Responsible for following all SAE and licensing expectations.
Substituting at other SAE sites on a regular basis for short and long term assignments.
Establish and maintain open, collaborative and supportive relationships with all staff including elementary school staff, children, parents and SAE Central Office. Lead by example to foster team work and act with integrity to maintain a professional work environment.
Secure building, equipment, and program per District and department guidelines. Ensure areas and equipment used by program is cleaned and maintained.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE Working with school age children preferred but not required.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent unless candidate is still attending high school.
QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 16 years of age and demonstrate an ability to work with children. Program Aide always works under the direct supervision of Program Director or Program Leader. Must be flexible to accommodate short and long term subbing assignments at all SAE Sites as directed by Program Director/Leader.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying (ability to move tables and other furniture to set up site program), climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can not always be anticipated. Ability to meet physical needs of students.
