GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, performs varied and responsible personnel office and clerical work requiring an understanding of established personnel operations, processes and procedures. The work The work of this position involves maintaining staff assessment evaluation materials, scheduling, notification, recording and reporting; completing staffing related work necessary to the processing and employment of applications and substitutes; and related work activities. Workers exercise considerable initiative in processing actions and following through to be sure the work process is completed accurately. The work requires the use typewriters, computer terminals and other office equipment. Considerable contact with applicants, employees, administrators and others is required.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Graduation form high school plus three years of clerical or stenographic experience. Graduation from an accredited college may be substituted for one and a half years of the required experience, but no substituting may be made for the other one and a half years of the experience required. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greets visitors and directs the visitors to appropriate personnel specialist or administrator.Arranges interviews with Supervisors and Principals for applicants.Assists with recruitment of prospective teachers.Performs clerical duties such as typing, collating, filing and recording, as requested.Compiles special reports, as directed.Prepares replies to correspondence from detailed notes; sending correspondence to employees related to employment and status changes following approval of the board.Answers telephone calls and questions on the employment process and a variety of staffing procedures and policies.Prepares comprehensive packets containing important forms and information related to the hiring process.Review and process transcripts and verification of employment.Copies and collates a variety of materials related to the employment process.Prepares materials for meetings.Screens telephone calls, incoming mail, and schedules appointments.Performs related work as required.Assists in processing substitute employees applications, orientation and employment.
