Since 2000, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a school of 150 students in Donna, TX to the fastest- growing family of tuition-free, public charter schools in the United States. Role Mission : The Lower Valley English Language Learner (ELL ) Interventionist supports their regional portfolio of schools in ensuring that they are providing high quality instruction and intervention for their ELL students through general classroom support, intervention classes, professional development opportunities for staff, and management of identification and documentation . The Interventionist also ensures that ELL funding is being used to maximum potential to increase ELL student achievement.





Accountabilities


  • 15% increase in ELL students' Reading and Writing STAAR scores to " meets " or " exceeds expectations " levels.
    • Provide classroom coaching and support to campus English Language Arts (ELA) managers
    • Collaborat e with ELA curriculum managers to ensure E nglish L anguage P roficiency Standards (ELPS) strategies are incorporated in classroom lessons
    • Coordinate and facilitate Professional Development with ELA to ensure it touches on ELPS strategies
    • Coordinate ELL parent engagement sessions for all campuses in the region
  • 60% of ELL students will advance one or more levels on T exas E nglish L anguage P roficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) .
    • Facilitate regional-based trainings on the TELPAS Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLDs) for speaking, reading, writing, and listening
    • Coordinat e and s upport with TELPAS trainings across the region
    • Report on ELL -f ocused data for all Reading and Writing assessments to track progress towards goals
  • Support Title III campus spending so that all campuses are spending effectively down to 0 for the school year .
    • Train business clerks in coding regulations for Title III grant funding
    • Train business clerks and campus ELL point-people on appropriate/allowable expenditures for ELL funds
    • Ensur e 20% of funds are designated for Professional Development as required by the grant regulations
    • Coordinate ELL summer school programming


  • 100% of campuses in the region will earn satisfactory or better on Title III audits
    • Provide ELLevation documentation support and monitor maintenance of digital student files
    • Provid e regional professional development for campus leaders on the maintenance of appropriate documentation
    • Establish and maintain b usiness partnership with PEIMS department to ensure accuracy of ELL data in Powerschool
    • Conduct monthly audits and reports on compliance with Title III grant regulations

    Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree (in educational field preferred)
    • Experience: Experience in working with ELL students and coordinating ELL services
    • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable): Bilingual/ESL certification preferred



    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience working with ELL students
    • Familiarity with LPAC and TELPAS processes and Performance Level Descriptors





    Compensation:

    Salaries for this role typically fall between $48,650 and $60,812, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment .
