Homebound Tutor - Chemistry The Westport Board of Education provides academic instruction to a student under its jurisdiction who is unable to attend school for various reasons. We are looking to hire a tutor who can provide academic instruction in chemistry. Applicants need to be available during the school day as well as after school and into the early evening. Tutoring location varies per student situation and can take place either at the school, the student's home (with a parent or adult present) or at the Westport Public Library.

Functions:

• Provide teaching support to a student(s) who are unable to attend school;
• Teach the curriculum and evaluate the assessments (with input and materials provided by the teacher);
• Complete student progress reports and grades as required; and
• Communicate as needed with the student's guidance counselor, teachers(s) and the Pupil Services Administration Office.

Qualifications:

• Completed application
• Connecticut Certification – Secondary Chemistry Endorsement Required (031)

Salary:

• WPS contractual rate is $56 per hour
• The tutor will be paid per hour of instruction and for a specific amount of preparation time
