Brief Description:
Under general supervision of the Response to Intervention Coordinator, the RTI Consulting Teacher is responsible for providing support in the implementation and evaluation of the RTI framework to schools across the division. The position is also responsible for designing and delivering high quality professional learning to school staff and leaders in the areas of instruction, intervention, and progress monitoring strategies to support the use of evidence-based practices in schools.
Detailed Description:
* Teach, model, facilitate, and build capacity to utilize research-based best practices within the
school's RTI framework to support student learning
* Support schools through a model of consultation and collaboration with teams and administrators
* Collect and analyze division-level data to identify trends in the areas of screening, progress
monitoring, and instructional practices as well as formative and summative RTI assessments
* Plan and deliver professional learning to support the framework of RTI and division-wide goals
* Serve as a member of the division-level RTI Coordination Team
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
The RTI Consulting Teacher reports to the RTI Coordinator
Job Requirements:
* Holds a degree from an accredited college or university and a valid Virginia teaching license
* Has experience participating on a RTI team
* Has demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers, administrators, and community members
* Has excellent oral and written communication skills
* Uses a team approach and is collaborative to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to
improve student outcomes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* The employee is frequently required to travel, changing locations within a single day.
