Salary Range: $17.990 - $21.494/hour

Essential Functions and Objectives:

- Select, order, maintain and disseminate information in the library and virtual classroom to all faculty, students and provide lead support for library staff such as training, assign job tasks, and act as a resource for staff questions and guidance

- Teach faculty and students how to use the resources available in the library and provide support for class projects and research

- Teach faculty and students how to use instructional technology applications

- Gathers materials requested by teachers to coordinate with projects

- Keep current with information publications, technology and formats used in the library

- Maintain library records including: circulation, purchases, patrons, classes and on-line access

- Generate reports for budgeting, yearly statistics, needs assessments and other areas as needed

- Give book-talks/tours for classes, individual students, faculty and staff

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field

- Keeps apprised of new trends and innovations in the field of public school library services

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Knowledge and ability to work with technology and assist with integration in the classroom.

- Knowledge of professional public school library principles, practices, and techniques

- Knowledge of digitization principles and techniques and other current trends and developments in the field of library science

- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion

- Experience working with urban school populations

Education Requirements:

- BA o r BS degree in related field.

- Masters of Library Science degree, preferred

- Demonstrated technology proficiency

- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with students, faculty, staff and administration

- Excellent interpersonal skills
