    Assistant Superintendent for School Operations and Strategic Initiatives located at Windham Public Schools. This position will serve on the Superintendent's Leadership Team and will maintain a close working relationship with the District Administrators to ensure information exchange and the coordination of efforts for effective school operations and innovations. The Assistant Superintendent administers and interprets statutes, regulations, and policies concerned with the responsibilities of business, finance, transportation, nutrition services, facilities, technology operation and maintenance. The Assistant Superintendent implements the vision for innovative school models by promoting and supporting the development and implementation of districtwide system of innovation and assists the Superintendent and staff to analyze financial and educational issues and develop solutions to problems. This position also serves on the District's strategic plan committee and assists the Superintendent in managing initiatives related to the District's strategic plan, is responsible for day-to-day internal operations of the district and acts in place of the Superintendent in the Superintendent's absence. The successful applicant will also be an excellent oral and written communicator.

    Minimum Qualifications: All minimum requirements must be met on or before the application deadline.     • Minimum of five years' successful administrator experience; urban education preferred.
    • Prior Central Office experience in a diverse, urban district is highly preferred.
    • Evidence of strong instructional leadership.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral & written).
    • Minimum of 5 years' successful full time teaching experience.
    • A valid Connecticut Administrators Certificate with a 092 endorsement.
    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
    • Evidence of successfully implementing innovative school models or programs
    • Evidence of establishing operational efficiencies
    Responsibilities include:
    • Oversee the developmental and implementation of the district strategic plan.
    • Use system level information to monitor school improvement strategies.
    • Serve as the District's expert in innovative school models.
    • Promote the implementation of innovative school models.
    • Provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of technology across the district.
    • Oversee the functioning of the technology department operation of the district.
    • Ensure the appropriate use of technology integration with the teaching and learning process.
    • Implementing emerging practices and progress within and outside the educational area that personalizes learning for students and educators.
    • Make recommendations to the Superintendent for policy changes.
    • Assist the implementation of the policies established by federal and state law and the State Board of Education.
    • Assist the Superintendent in organizational analysis and development.
    • Divise, implements and supervise an effective districtwide discipline and alternative education program for the district.
    • Participate in the collective bargaining negotiations.
    • Advise the Superintendent on all matters concerning the operations of the school system.
    • Oversees facility, building and ground, technology, food Service and transportation.
    • Ensures equitable social emotional practices for students
    • Develop processes and procedures aligned to Board Policies
