Job Description:

Camelot Education is excited about continuing partnerships with the Chicago Public Schools, at our Camelot Academy 'Safe School' location in the South Shore district. This campus is one of our an alternative education programs comprised of students within the district that have been removed from their regular campus for disciplinary infractions. Students range from grades 6-12, and are supported by a team of professionals that include credentialed teachers and behavior management professionals. The focus of this program will be to keep students on track to graduate and to successfully transition them back to their regular campus to achieve success.

We are recruiting creative, compassionate, caring educators to join our staff, eager to help our students excel academically and achieve post-secondary success. We are currently accepting applications for Special Education Aide to begin immediately.

The Special Education Aide provides educational, social and behavioral support and assistance to students requiring services through an Individual Education Program (IEP) by providing accommodations and modifications as needed to promote student success. The Special Education Aide also collaborates with both special education and general education staff to generate strategies, ideas and programs that will further the successful education of all students.

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot has 40 campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who have dropped out of school, been expelled or at risk for either.

Experience and Skills:

  • Associate's Degree or 60+ credit hours from an accredited college or univeristy preferred
  • Paraprofessional Certificate
  • One year of previous experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
