Anticipated Teacher Assistant - HS Special Education Classroom

Anticipated full-time Teacher Assistant position for the Tonawanda City School District.

Duties as assigned under supervision of Principal and Director of Pupil Personnel. Duties include:

• Strong command of reading and writing skills
• Ability to break multi-step tasks down into small steps to communicate with students with disabilities (SWD's)
• Proctor and conduct examinations
• Manage records, materials and equipment
• Supervise and re-teach students in remedial work as directed by classroom teacher
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings when requested
• May include individual student supervision as required by IEP's
• Strong understanding of a variety of disabilities and strategies to use with each
• Assist teacher in correcting student work
• Other duties as assigned

This assignment is subject to change for the 2019-2020 school year.
