    Title: High School Mathematics Teacher

    Reports To: Mathematics Program Coordinator/ Folsom House Administrator

    Position Purpose
    The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality mathematics education to students in grades 9 thru 12 under the guidance of the Mathematics Program Supervisor.
    • Teach 5 classes – Algebra 1 (2 sections), Honors Geometry (2 sections), and Algebra 2A (1 section)
    • Serves as course leader for Honors Geometry
    • Regularly assesses student work and provides feedback to students and parents in a timely manner
    • Provides extra help to students
    • Manages Aspen Gradebook and Schoology sites

    Additional Responsibilities
    • Participates in Professional Learning Community (1 block)
    • Attends all department meetings and professional development activities
    • Provides additional support in the Math Learning Center (4 blocks)
    • Oversees the Math Testing Center (2 blocks)
    • Participates in supervising students during Opportunity Block at the end of the school day
    • Other duties as assigned by Program Coordination/ House Administrator

    Work Year and Compensation
    Work year is 187 days, salary based on appropriate GEA salary level.

    Qualifications:
    • Graduation from accredited college or university.
    • Connecticut mathematics (029) certification.
    • Extensive knowledge of Common Core standards and practices.
    • Ability to personalize learning in a blended learning environment.
    • Knowledge of best practices in mathematics instruction.
    • Strong communication skills – orally and in writing.
