Administrative Position - Effective July 1, 2019  
 Assistant Superintendent for  Finance and Operations 

Due to the retirement of our long serving incumbent, we are  seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for the position of  Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations.   

Experienced school business professionals who are seeking a school district with a proven record of improving academic  success, collegiality, support and fiscal stability, as well as  stability at the Board of Education, administrative and all other levels, are invited to apply.    

The Copiague Public Schools serve a diverse community of 5,000  students on the scenic south shore of Long Island and is supported  by a $130 million annual budget. 

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’  experience as a chief school business official and a proven  record of success in all phases of NYS school finance and  business operations including, but not limited to, preparation and development, all business office operations, contract  transportation, cafeteria operations, and buildings and grounds. An advanced business degree and/or CPA are preferred.  NYS SDBL certification required along with a strong knowledge of the regulations of the Comptroller of the State of New York,  Commissioner of Education and General Municipal Law.
