As an Accounting Intern with Learning Care Group, you will have the opportunity to learn the daily operations of our corporate office (Support Central), and gain valuable insight on how Support Central helps all functions and employees throughout our organization. During the 10 weeks, the Intern will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience, learning our processes and improving our efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college courses.

The Accounting Intern, will work on the following:

• Perform work on multiple month end tasks including federal food revenue tracking, utility spend tracking and fleet and equipment accounting.
• Maintain and validate trial balance reports during period end close.
• Prepare period end journal entries for validation and review.
• Prepare assigned monthly reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end financial report preparation.
• Prepare external audit support including work papers and supporting schedules.
• Maintain external audit work-paper request list and verify open items with audit team.
• Shadow team members in the Accounting department as they perform their duties.

As part of our Summer Internship Program, you will:

• Complete a 10 Week Internship in one of our Support Central areas: Accounting, IT, Finance, HR, Recruiting, Marketing, Training, or Compliance
• Submit a final Internship project
• Build relationship with a Mentor
• Weekly job shadows with mentor departments
• Complete meaningful tasks Be given a flash drive to store documents from the Internship i.e. goals document, final project, completed documents, references, Intern paperwork for school etc.
• Be expected to provide feedback on their experience
• A final evaluation will be completed on the Intern's performance
• Become part of the LCG Ambassador Program

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in accredited University or College
