Superintendent of Schools Goshen
Goshen County School District #1, Torrington, Wyoming, is accepting applications for a superintendent of schools. The successful candidate should demonstrate successful teaching, management, administrative and instructional leadership skills and possess high moral character to inspire and lead a school district that expects and supports a comprehensive educational program for its students. Salary will be not less than $125,000 and include a comprehensive benefits package.
Goshen County is located in eastern Wyoming, adjacent to the Nebraska border and 85 miles north of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The district serves the entire county, including the city of Torrington and the towns of Fort Laramie, LaGrange, Lingle and Yoder. The major sources of employment in Goshen County are farming and ranching with cattle, small grains, and sugar beets being the major crops. Torrington, the county seat, is a thriving community of nearly 6,700 people which offers comprehensive community services to those who live in the area. Torrington boasts one of the largest cattle markets and auctions in the nation. The main campus of Eastern Wyoming Community College is located in Torrington. Fishing, hunting, boating, golfing, and exploring historical sites are just a few of the recreational activities available in Goshen County.
Goshen County School District #1 serves approximately 1,662 students in seven schools that offer a comprehensive educational program for students in grades kindergarten through 12 and which serve as the center of their communities.
