    SUMMARY Responsible for the transport of students to and from school plus extra trips. Assist Lead Trainer in all training aspects. Abide by Department of Transportation, Department of Education, Special Education, State and District rules, regulations and guidelines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    D 15% Oversee the training of the drivers and paras in all aspects of job. Evaluate drivers/paras during ride along sessions..
    D 15% Transport passengers to and from destination in a safe manner. Monitor health care issues of passengers with mental, physical and health concerns including seizures, feeding tubes and oxygen, and
    transportation operations
    D 15% Assist in maintaining drivers certification records.
    D 15% Assist in maintaining student behavior records and working with parents and principals in correcting student behavior. Ability to train in classroom format.
    D 15% Communicate with students, parents, teachers, paras, district employees, general public and local agencies in professional manner.
    D 5% Perform pre and post trip inspection of vehicle before route begins and ends each day, both CDL and district.
    D 5% Respond to emergency situations such as break downs and accidents.
    D 5% Attend all meetings and/or trainings as needed or required for trainers.
    D 3% Document mileage sheets, referrals, rules, role model, update route information, incident reports, seating charts and student count.
    D 3% Operate equipment such as fueling and cleaning bus and operating manual and automatic lifts.
    A 3% Update skills on evacuation, state count and mileage, in-service training for department, CDE training, First Aid and CPR, written tests and DOT. Provide input to Transportation Manger on driver
    evaluations.
    1% Perform other duties as assigned.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
    Driver's license (with no more than 8 points in 3 years)
    CDL B P2S
    DOT Physical
    First Aid and CPR
    Mountain Driving and Student Management Certifications

    Have partial and complete others in timely manner:
    DT1-DT4 and TSD1-TSD3 or equivalent
    Must be able to attend yearly CDE training

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pounds.
    Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds.
    Frequent sitting, bending, walking, and standing.
    Occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent.

    EXPERIENCE Experience in transportation a plus.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Basic math, writing, communication, and accounting skills. Basic knowledge of reading maps. Ability to follow written directions. Ability to drive a bus not required at hire.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS Drivers license with no more than 8 points in 3 years. Obtain, and maintain, a CDL class B license with P2S endorsement, DOT medical card, First Aid and CPR certification.

    SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY Directly supervises passengers. Spends over 50% of time conducting supervisory responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING Work is assigned by transportation supervisor and dispatcher. This position requires application of position knowledge to efficiently transport passengers and follow transportation guidelines. Work is guided by Adams School District 14 policies and procedures. Decision making requires collaboration with supervisor and dispatcher, mechanic, school officials, teachers and co-workers. Supervisor is involved in most decisions.

    SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS Low exposure to self to chemical burns, hernia and disease due to bus batteries, lifting wheelchairs and handling bodily fluids. Medium exposure to self and others to bruises, cuts, heat burns, fractured bones, loss of limb, disfigurement, fatality due to traffic accidents. High exposure to self and/or others falls, repetitive motion or stress and back injury due to everyday operation.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

    MENTAL FUNCTIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, communicate, use interpersonal skills and negotiate. Frequently required to analyze, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate and compile. Occasionally required to coordinate.
