OVERVIEW:

The Office Expanded Learning Time works to build a web of support for all students to access year round learning opportunities, thinking beyond the traditional idea of school. We are looking for a Project Manager to manage and cultivate two major Expanded Learning Time grants: 21st Century Community Learning Centers and Massachusetts Expanded Learning Time and support the district's "Schedule A" schools, those BPS schools who have entered into an agreement between the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Teachers Union to add 40 minutes to the school day. The Expanded Learning Time Manager of Grants and School Support will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Schedule A Memorandum of Agreement across the 62 Schedule A schools and overseeing the district's Expanded Learning Time (ELT) and Out-of-school (OST) sites. Current ELT grants include: 21st CCLC ELT (Eliot K-8), 21st CCLC OST (BINcA, English High, Gardner Pilot, Hennigan K-8, Kenny K-8), Massachusetts ELT (Boston Arts Academy, Dever Elementary, Young Achievers K-8). Support will also extend to any new Schedule A or ELT grant sites.

REPORTS TO: Director of Expanded Learning Time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

ELT Grants
  • Collaborate with school communities to develop programming that meets grant expectations in a way that best meets the needs of the school community
  • Oversee data collection and analysis, and coordinate reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Serve as point person for communications and outreach with key stakeholders, including school leaders, district leaders, partners, program staff, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Schools.
  • Oversee budget development, and facilitate processes for stipend and partner payments
  • Collaborate with 5th Quarter (summer) team to facilitate grant-funded summer programs
  • Collaborate with schools and relevant district teams to determine potential candidates for new 21st CCLC grant sites and facilitate application process

Schedule A
  • Track submission of TFT facilitator names, attendance at training, annual submission of meeting logs, and process stipends for TFT facilitators
  • Support coordination of Teacher Facilitated Time (TFT) Trainings, led by the Office of Teacher Leadership
  • Manage budget transfers and auditing process for ELT Supply Fund orders at the school level
  • Lead annual tracking of itinerant staff in Schedule A schools in partnership with the Budget, Special Education, and English Learner teams
  • Send relevant communications to Schedule A school leaders, teachers, and staff
  • Provide as needed strategic support to schools transitioning to Schedule A during a planning year, in partnership with the ELT team

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Expanded Learning Time.

Qualifications - Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years experience in development or grants management
  • Understanding of urban school districts and/or the youth-serving nonprofit landscape
  • Demonstrated experience with project and budget management, including meeting tight deadlines to successfully achieve goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including tailoring information for multiple stakeholders
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

Qualifications - Preferred:
  • Experience with Boston Public Schools
  • Experience with 21st Century grants
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar
  • Familiarity with SurveyMonkey

TERMS: Managerial, Tier C; City of Boston Residency required.
