Account Manager, Specialty Accounts

About this role...

As a NWEA Account Manager with in the Specialty Accounts team, you will be responsible for managing and growing an assigned targeted group of existing NWEA Partners by building long-term relationships and adding value to the Partner. In this role, you will work on a regiona l team led by a Director, Partner Accounts , with your primary focus to ensure Partner retention and satisfaction, and to drive increased use of NWEA Products and Services to improve our Partners ability to help all kids learn. You will work closely w ith Account Managers on the Specialty Accounts Team as we share and strategize tactics for partner retention. Close collaboration with Account Managers on other teams as well as Inside Sales reps on Specialty Accounts team is also essential to the success of the team and our Partners.

As an Account owner, your key areas of work include managing annual renewals, optimizing account revenue, expanding the number of students being tested by the Partner, u ncovering needs for new products and services, building relationships with district stakeholders, and establishing a long-term plan for Professional Learning to increase the use and value of their relationship with NWEA. In addition, you will work with the extended NWEA organization, including Marketing, Support , and Professional Learning Delivery , to ensure the needs of our partners are met. Note: Candidates who reside in the Midwest region of the United States are highly preferred as the territory assignme nt will likely be in this region. .

About the Partner Accounts, Specialty Accounts team ...

NWEA's Partner Accounts group is comprised of over 150 professionals whose mission is to reach state and local education agencies with our products and services. Structured in strategic teams, the Partner Accounts group is comprised of several teams including Major Accounts, Stan dard Accounts, State & Federal Government Accounts, National A ccounts, Int ernational Accounts, Specialty Accounts, Sales O perations, Proposals T eam , and Program Management. This role joins the Specialty Accounts team .

The Specialty Accounts team is responsible for public and private schools across the United States with total enrollment under 600 students. We create proactive, targeted outbound sales campaigns, Partner events, webinars, and calls focusing on the specific needs of this target market. The right candidate will join a successful and cohesive team of professionals with a proven track record.

  • Ability to manage Partner relationships via phone and email, maintaining a hig h level of Partner satisfaction
  • Ability to meet personal and team goal s
  • Effective collaborator, demonstrated through communication, authenticity, reliability, compromise, and team player skills
  • Articulate c ommunicator, with strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong knowledge of the K-12 education market, including school and business operations and functions
  • Must reside in the Midwes t region of the U.S. with ability to t ravel up to 15 %

  • Ability to manage sales opportunities and pipeline

Education and experience...

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education, Business or a related field is required
  • 2 to 4 years of account management experience
  • Sales experience within the K-12 education market preferred
  • Deep u nderstanding of K-12 education industry, curriculum and a ssessment methods is highly preferred
  • Experience with NWEA products and services is highly preferred
