   License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Bookkeeping experience preferred. Experience in a K-12 setting preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and professional manner; interpersonal skills and intercultural competence to work successfully with internal and external contacts; excellent skills in organization and time management; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and with limited supervision; professional-level oral and written communication skills; ability to work as an effective team member; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; strong editing and proofreading skills; strong bookkeeping/accounting skills; ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) in a positive and professional manner; strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Lotus Notes; ability to learn new software packages; flexibility to adjust to meet deadlines; ability to detect and correct errors in standard English language usage; and excellent telephone and public relations skills. Bilingual skills in the most prevalent language other than English spoken in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Assist in the organization, support, and coordination of all aspects of the International Newcomer Center (INC).

1. Manage concurrent tasks effectively and complete assignments by deadlines.

2. Facilitate arrangements for meetings and professional development classes.
a. Maintain professional learning records and report participation data as needed.

3. Anticipate and effectively support supervisor's job related needs.
a. Generate reports to provide data analysis for various programs.

4. Handle routine matters in a professional manner in the absence of supervisor.

5. Maintain an effective and efficiently run office, including the maintenance of accurate files and the generation of printing requests, copies, and other resources as needed.

6. Maintain records and files for supervisor in an efficient, orderly, and accurate manner.

7. Assist in monitoring monthly budget reports and submit all balances to supervisor on a monthly basis.

8. Assist in developing accurate budget amendments and travel requests.

9. Assist in preparing and reviewing annual budgets for accuracy.

10. Process purchase orders through PeopleSoft system and maintain current school budget balance.

11. Cooperate with and demonstrate a positive relationship with division, department, and other district employees.
a. Communicate information concerning the INC to a variety of audiences, including parents, community, and school based personnel.
b. Serve as the first line customer service contact for the INC Office.

12. Support supervisor by being knowledgeable of department programs and procedures.

13. Assist with various financial and accounting duties.
a. Submit miscellaneous payroll and other accounting tasks as required.
b. Process purchase orders through PeopleSoft system and maintain current program budget balance.
c. Facilitate invoice payment for INC purchasing and services.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
