PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Math Instructional Support Staff is an educator who will support math teachers to provide intentional and targeted support on content and strategies. The staff is expected to assist classroom teachers in understanding the Missouri Learning Standards and identify resources for planning daily instruction. Teacher will share and model effective strategies to effectively prepare students for high stakes test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
Instructional
Assist district math coordinator in carrying out instructional programs.
Identify classroom teachers needing support on specific content/topics.
Create a plan of support for teachers struggling on specific standards.
Develop and implement a test prep plan for MAP and EOC to address areas of concern.
Prepare test prep materials for MAP and EOC.
Conduct review sessions in specific classrooms for MAP and EOC prep.
Provide support to curriculum coordinator in the development and revision of Math 7-12 curriculum.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Education (Science or Mathematics) from a four-year college or university
Minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience in an accredited public school district
Demonstrated experience and/or training in current techniques and skills in teaching students.
Demonstrated high performance of students in state tests as classroom teacher.
Valid Missouri teaching certificate
Content-specific knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards, Item Specifications Documents, and other content specific standards documents articulated by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Experience with various technology resources and applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Education or related field
