Summary: Under the direction of the Head of School, the RTI Specialist will support teachers in the continuous improvement process in reading and/or mathematics. The RtI Specialist will lead multiple interventions in and outside of the elementary grade classrooms.
Responsibilities
Master's Degree in elementary education (K-6) and/or special education
Valid New York State teacher certification
At least one to three years of experience in literacy coaching in an urban setting
Experience in the development and delivery of professional development
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills; maintaining open communication and relating sensitively to others

Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative support to the school efforts for RtI implementation.
- Articulate the alignment of RtI with the district's vision and mission.
- Serve as a member of the school RtI team.
- Work closely with school leaders in order to voice a common vision for quality curriculum and instruction.
- Help develop RtI support materials for administration and staff.
- Provide support to school in using scientific research-based interventions for students.
- Help plan and implement building level staff development and observe instructional consistency to support core reading and math skills across the curriculum.
- Assist school RtI teams with analyzing related data and facilitate training of the universal training tool.
- Participate in, and support staff training on tools that collect related data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all dress standards and policies.
