    Experience

    Ten (10) years of successful secondary principalship experience

    Related administrative experience, recommended

  • Thorough knowledge of school curriculum development and instructional strategies

  • Knowledge of teaching methodology and related research

  • Outstanding skills in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to organize varied responsibilities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to analyze instructional and/or material needs and to implement appropriate staff development

  • Knowledge of a balanced assessment system

  • Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and respectfully with staff, parents and community members regardless of race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnic/national origin, religion, marital status, age, socio-economic status or disability

  • Ability to recognize sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality

  • Knowledge of budgeting procedures and management related to areas of responsibility

  • Ability to organize and lead committees to accomplish goals

  • Ability to handle adversity in a calm, objective manner

  • Record of commitment and sensitivity to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and human rights

  • Knowledge of processes to address cultural diversity and associated issues related to student performance and instructional methodology
