About This Role...
This position plays an important role in connecting the Marketing, Sales , Product Management , and Executive teams. You will work in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing and Strategic /Executive Communications, to develop and deliver strategic communications and marketing plans for NWEA State Solutions . State Solutions are highly consultative sales, often conducted through formal RFPs. As such, the critical focus is on creating compelling communications that educate the market, engage key influencers and decision makers, and elevate the organization's profile in the state space . You will also play a key role in supporting the organization's overall leadership strategies , contributing to the development of influencer engagement and thought leadership efforts.
Your Next Challenge...
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and communications plans for State Solutions and NWEA leadership initiatives.
  • Identify, define, and segment target audiences , developing buyer personas and audience profiles .
  • In collaboration with Digital and Content leads, drive the development of print and digital materials such as fact sheets, case studies, and other product collateral .
  • Pa rtner with Creative department and/or third parties to develop the tools that support the selling process (e.g. PPTs, videos, etc.).
  • Create strategic plan for speaker's bureau and work with teams to proactively obtain speaking opportunities for State Solutions and NWEA leaders.
  • Help to execute communications deliverables included as part of contract agreements with State Solutions partners.
  • Support crisis communications in response to critical incidents in c ollaboration with members of cross functional team.
  • Monitor industry issues and competitive landscape to keep the State Solutions and Though t Leadership teams informed and to adjust positioning and messaging as required.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing marketing programs , especially in connection with a product or service
  • Demonstrated experience in external strategic communications, including involvement in thought leadership and influencer relations
  • Practiced in conducting industry and influencer research and in developing effective briefings for leaders
  • Skilled in partnering with Creative teams to guide the development of visuals that communicate complex concepts
  • Understanding of and passion for the K-12 education space
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative policies and challenges impacting districts and state departments of education a plus
  • Experience working in technology services and software markets a plus
  • Experience or certification in Pragmatic Marketing a plus
  • Community engagement and/or not-for-profit experience a plus

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Regular full-time employees are eligible to accrue 4 weeks paid time off during the first year of employment, 5 weeks after the first year, and 6 weeks after the second year and all years thereafter. Additionally, employees receive 9 paid holidays per year.
Benefit P ay
Eligible employees receive an additional $400 ($200 for part-time employees) per month (reported and taxed as salary), which is used to offset premium costs or items not currently covered.
Group and Supplemental Retirement Plans
NWEA contributes 15% of eligible employee's base salary to a defined-contribution 403(b) retirement saving plans. Additionally, eligible employees are auto-enrolled at 3% with the option to opt-out or change the election amount up to the federal maximum per year to a 403(b) retirement saving plans.
Section 125 Flexible Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) Accounts
Eligible employees may set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses or dependent/elder care-as well as parking/transit expenses.
Life insurance and AD&D insurance
Employees receive policies equal to 1 times annual salary for life and AD&D insurance. These premiums are 100% employer-paid.
Career Development & Education Program
NWEA will reimburse up to $1,500 per fiscal year for full-time employees and up to $750 for part-time employees. College coursework, certifications, and tests from appropriate institutions or organizations qualify under this program.
