Duties

Direct and oversee all aspects of the School Leadership Program, a Master’s degree program that brings together aspiring leaders from independent, public, and charter schools. This role has responsibility for all aspects of the operational management of the program including recruiting, budgeting, program design, and supervision. The director has significant contact with the students in the program both as an instructor and as an advisor.

 

The person would need to be able to work well across sectors, and be seen as credible by all sectors, and school leadership experience is preferred.

 

Qualifications

Ed.D., PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree and 7-10 of relevant experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in educational administrative leadership. Preferred candidate must have understanding of school leadership practices, as well as outstanding administrative, teaching, and financial skills. Must have demonstrated ability to interact effectively with varied constituencies and must have a sufficiently specialized background to advise students in the program who may come from independent, public, or private schools. Understanding of different sectors is required. Must have innovative approach and ability to think strategically about expanding program. Understanding of diverse academic environments, regional challenges, and current challenges in education is required.
