Middle School Principal (MYP+UK)- Guangzhou, China - August 2019

This new school (which opened in January 2015) is located in Guangzhou, in southern China, two hours by train to Hong Kong. They opened initially with just an Early Years and Primary section but due to rapid expansion have expanded to include the middle years. From August 2019 they will need a qualified and experienced Head of Middle School to join their existing staff. The school is currently using the MYP programme but experience of IGCSE is also helpful because the school are considering adding/changing to IGCSE for academic rigour. Candidates must be experienced leaders with at least 10 years of leadership experience plus at least 3 years as Head of Middle School or Head of Secondary. MYP experience is essential and GCSE/IGCSE experience is desirable.

*Because of the initial small size of the Middle School (it has just opened) for the first year the Principal will have a small teaching load of about 4-8 hrs. Once the school develops and class sizes increase this will no longer be an expectation. The ability to also act as the initial MYP coordinator is a plus*

The school is located in Southern China in Guangzhou, the largest city in the Guangdong province. It's a busy, lively city but parts of the cities have charm with restored churches, buildings and private residences.
