Role Mission: The Transportation Data Analyst supports the Transportation Department in systems management and service improvement. Duties include : coordinating with software vendors to bridge gaps, provid ing reports to HQ personnel, and monitor ing the security of our systems in alignment with IDEA's Information Technology policies. He/she will partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strong measurements of Transportation data and meet or exceed data management expectations, with a strong focus on data integrity, analytics, and staff satisfaction in an effort to continuously improve our systems.

Accountabilities:

1. Create systems for maintaining data metrics and accuracy for all aspects of the Transportation team

• Set up dashboards with metrics for team from multiple organizational systems to ensure accuracy in all functions

• Monitor data accuracy and adjusts, when necessary, with rationale and r eport on discrepancies and root causes , work ing towards improvements each month

• Monitor the Transportation Dashboard created by the School Operations Project Analyst and partner with Transportation Functional areas to identify and resolve any discrepancies.

• Run audits to ensure legacy systems have accurate data , and c reate meaningful comparisons using data to drive future results of the Transportation Department

• Execute end-of-year process & work closely with cross functional teams and supervisors to disseminate information to staff regarding year end data.

• Manage successful partnerships with third party administrators , such as TPA, to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensure data accuracy between systems, and cultivate and support deliverables with producers through consistent communication and relationship building.

• Proactively and reactively a ddress employee concerns and issues of system functionality with a high degree of professionalism and a customer service orientation .
  • Communicate with employees about anticipated issues and makes accommodations as deemed necessary , ensuring timely follow up with staff (24-48 hours).
  • Assist with new hires by providing support to staff members and continuously communicating with new hire

2. Serve as the administrator for the Transportation HUB, ensuring 100% accuracy of data.

• Provide the appropriate level of access to all stakeholders

• Understand and anticipate user needs and experience s and make changes and improvements where appropriate.

• Monitor use and resolve system issues within 24 hours of identification.

• Partner with the Development team to develop systems for managing data across multiple systems.

• Manage all training material to be posted to the HUB, and a ct as a strategic partner to users, providing training, coaching, and support to resolve issues within 24 hours.

3 . Develop database queries and reports to enhance the operational efficiencies of the Transportation Department related processes , with 100% of Critical and Ad hoc Reports/Analysis requests executed accurately and on time .

• Complete and document all requests with an expected completion date based on current workload

• Develop and maintain ad hoc reports as needed for the Transportation Department leveraging SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other report options such as Excel and Power BI

• Assist the Transportation Department in developing ways to leverage SSRS, ODBC or other SQL report writing tools to make analyzing data more efficient and effective

• Develop and maintain documentation for any applications and reports that are implemented through ODBC, SSRS, Excel, Power BI, etc.

4 . Serve as the Transfinder, Servicefinder & Synovia security and System Administrator for Systems Information

• Maintain permissions, updates, servers and database for the district's systems

• Act as a Liaison between the Transportation department and other departments that use our data , and ensure the data is being utilized in dashboards and reports accurately

• Attend workshops and trainings to implement industry standard best practices in the management of our departments systems

• Be r eadily available to provide phone support to restore lacking system/functionality

• Coordinate with vendors/business partners to implement new information systems , communicate system issues, and follow up to resolve issues in a timely manner

• Collaborate with IDEA IT department to implement measures as to resolve all recurring issues

• Provide technology vendors our feedback so they may expand the functionality of a system

5 . Manage departmental hardware with 100% accounted for at end of year

• Manage current computer hardware inventory and coordinate with Campus Managers/IT dept to purchase replacements as needed throughout the year

• Project departmental technology needs for the following fiscal year and make budget related recommendations to the Transportation Director

• Coordinate with the IT dept to keep the latest security features and improvements

• Annually review vendor pricing and negotiate for best value on behalf our department

6 . Implement at least one improvement project for the Synovia system with measurable benefits to the end user

• Audit campus locations to identify improvement opportunities by end user

• Coordinate with supervisor to map out the process to implement solution

• Write stand-alone programming script(s) that interface with Synovia to create efficiencies

• Attend state and national conferences to acquire new knowledge and skills in industry and apply to current role

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Economics or related field

• Experience: 2-3 years in Information Systems or related field

• Bilingual Spanish required

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office products including (but not limited to) Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI, PowerApps, Forms, PPT, SharePoint, InfoPath, etc., and other data tools to analyze data and provide appropriate visualizations and insights

• SQL knowledge required

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
