Job Description
JOB GOALS
The Wraparound Coordinator will support the New Bedford Public Schools' vision towards welcoming learning environments that build upon Social Emotional Learning systems and towards authentic family and community partner engagement and collaboration. work to engage families and community agencies in the learning of NBPS students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align and reinforce expectations, systems of support and messaging of the district to help the District prioritize and effectively engage families and community agencies to drive student achievement
- Work alongside the Wraparound Manager to implement professional development, coaching and tools to support staff effectively engaging community agencies and families to District staff
- The Wraparound Coordinator will support the District by securing resources that add value to the school community
- The Coordinator will also ensure that the external resources are aligned with the District Plan
- Working in collaboration with the Wraparound Manager, the Coordinator will implement the plan for building and maintaining relationships with early intervention organizations, K-12 industry partners, institutions of higher education, non-profit groups, governmental agencies, and volunteer groups.
- Bilingual - Spanish preferred

Student Support Services:
- Implement District Plans in building climate and culture systems that build systems for student support and social emotional learning initiatives at the school level.
- Identify tiered systems of student support.
- Support and lead work regarding the schools improvement plan goals for social emotional learning and family engagement within the plan.
- Establish wraparound systems for "at-risk" students.
- Lead and support the collection and use of SEL data trends, risk indicators including attendance, discipline, and other behavioral data.
- Support building District wide capacity to support de-escalation and crisis intervention services as an integrated system within the all schools.
- Support the use of the RTI model to support at-risk students in working with partners, families, administration, school support staff, and teachers ensuring wraparound supports for each student.

Family and Engagement:
- Cultivates and maintains high levels of trust and communication with city-wide and school-based parent groups.
- Ensures that school staff is using their professional development resources in effective family engagement strategies proven to improve student achievement
- Aligns and/or develops strategies and technical assistance to engage families in support of their child's learning and achievement
- Maintains and builds relationships with external family engagement stakeholders to drive collaboration and project success
- Identifies appropriate metrics for measuring outcomes of and inputs to effective family engagement programs and initiatives
- Supports the Wraparound Manager and the professional learning communities of principals and teachers committed to improving the effectiveness of their engagement strategies
- Documents and communicates about promising practices regarding the District, school administration, and teachers related to effective family engagement practices that drive student achievement
- Develops strategy for creating a uniform standards for a welcoming school climate that values parents in all their diversity as resources to drive student achievement and school success.

Community Engagement:
- Collaborates and leverages the talents of the experts in the field to develop state-of-the-art strategies, recommendations, and practices
- Keeps informed about innovations and developments and research in the field
- Provides technical assistance to schools and school based Wrap Around Coordinators on establishing and strengthening high quality partnerships.
- Identifies specific partners to help the District meet targeted goals
- Ensures the continuous flow and exchange of information within the school district

Climate and Culture Building:
- Work to build capacity among administrators and school support staff
- Provides guidance and training on how to employ strategies for responding to disagreement and dissent, constructively resolving conflict and building consensus throughout the school community
- Provides guidance and training on how to provide de-escalation and crisis intervention services
- Ensure that policies and practices enable staff members and students to interact effectively in a culturally diverse environment in which students' backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected
- Engage staff as a learning community
- Attends relevant external meetings to stay informed about latest research and trends; represents the perspective and vision of NBPS and presents specific findings and project results
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and the professional standards.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree required
2. Master's degree or coursework; specific experience in school leadership/administration and program management strongly preferred.
3. Previous exposure to or experience in the K-12 education sector a plus. Previous exposure to or experience in adult learning and/or professional development projects a plus.
4. Three to five years of supervisory, administrative, or leadership experience in training, system change, community organizing or development in a non-profit, government or business setting strongly preferred
5. Previous experience in family engagement that drives student achievement strategies
6. Previous experience in working with at-risk students, school based support systems, social-emotional learning and current methodology and practices within school settings.
7. Thorough knowledge of types of methods of engaging parent/community in school activities
8. Demonstrated experience and success in maintaining and expanding organizational relationships

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Reports to: Wraparound Manager
Salary: Subject to experience and negotiation
Work Year: 12 months
