SCIENCE TEACHER - LONG-TERM SUB

Looking to get your foot in the door in the Essex School System? Our Essex High School is seeking a long-term substitute Science teacher to teach Chemistry and AP Chemistry to our high school students. The position begins late April and is expected to continue through the end of the 2018-19 school year. Position is full-time and pays $260.00/day.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Holds a valid VT Educator license with a Science endorsement (2-13).
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in Chemistry in regards to content and pedagogy.
- Ability to implement a focus of literacy across the content areas, and expertise in utilizing technology to support instruction.
- Knowledge of the Next Generation Science standards.
- Knowledge and/or experience using standards based learning strategies and reporting of student progress, differentiated instruction to support each student, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery.
- Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students.
- Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students.
- The ability to effectively engage students.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the student population being served and how demographic variables impact student achievement, and effectively uses this knowledge to effectively design and delivery instruction.
- Effective integrates 21st century skills into the learning environment.
