Description
The United Schools Network (USN) is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages urban charter public schools that close the achievement gap and prepare low-income students to graduate from college. The network includes two high-performing middle schools, and two high-performing elementary schools. We are seeking an Operations Director to work with the Chief Schools Officer in providing operational leadership to the Home Office and schools.

Joining Our Team
The Key Responsibilities are intended as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. Key Responsibilities include:

Operations Oversight and Performance
• Identify, develop, and implement operational process improvements and policies which standardize and drive efficiency and compliance:
o School operations: student information systems, school safety plans and reporting, facilities management, vendor and contract services management, compliance reporting to the school sponsor, board, and ODE.
o Student transportation: interface with district transportation to ensure quality services for all schools, vendor management for outsourced services.
o Student recruitment and enrollment: enrollment applications and processes, standardize procedures and processes across the network.
• Build a community of school operations leaders and the support structure for USN's four schools, providing them with leadership training, professional development opportunities, sharing of best practices, team building, and standard policies and procedures.
• Use accountability systems to drive performance and measure success for school operations. Lead and introduce new technologies which improve services, lowers costs, and drives efficiencies across school operations.
• Support the CEO, CSO, and school board facilities committees with executing renovations and facilities acquisitions.

Budgeting & Finance
• Manage Home Office and oversee school-based purchase requisition and purchase order process, ensure all invoices are paid on time and that all substantiating documentation is provided to the accountant in a timely manner for account reconciliations.
• Manage Home Office and oversee school-based inventory and capital assets tracking and reporting.
• Work closely with CSO to forecast operations-associated budget needs at the Home Office and school level.

Human Capital Support
• Lead hiring of school-based Operations Leads and the Home Office Operations Coordinator.
• Support in orienting and preparing operations employee transitions.
• Issue Home Office employee keys, equipment, network account/passwords, etc. according to procedure.

Experience Required
• Results-driven operations leader with experience in, and commitment to, operational excellence and the use of data and assessments to drive operational and financial decisions.
• Experience working in school operations management, nonprofit management, or other similar role.
• Record of success in leading adults including prior experience with direct management and supervision.
• Bachelor's degree with advanced degree preferred.

Compensation
This position will begin as soon as possible and applications will be considered immediately. Compensation and benefits are competitive; the Operations Director will participate in Ohio's State Teacher Retirement System or Ohio's School Employees Retirement System.
