About this role ...

As a Senior Account Executive within NWEA's Partner Accounts group, you will be responsible for acquiring new customers (Partners), reaching new and existing Partners with our growing portfolio of Products and Services, and increasing NWEA's leadership pos ition in an assigned geography. You will work with a regional team (Cal/Tex team) led by a Director , focused on reaching new Partners in districts and you will p artner with an Account Manager who is focused on the renewals, retention and growth o f existing accounts . It is expected that Account Managers and Account E xecutives reside in their assigned territory and work as a two-person team. For this opportunity, candidates must reside in the Southern California (Los Angeles or San Diego) region.

Your key areas of work include identifying and building strategic relationships with Partners and Prospects , lead developme nt and qualification, acquire new NWEA Partners, expand the number of students being tested by assigned current Partners , establish territory plans to drive selling activity , and successfully manage sales pipeline of opportunities. In this role, you will experience a high level of travel.

Your next challenge...

  • Lead development, qualification and conversion into opportunities
  • Actively prospect and close opportunities for NWEA Products and Services, including MAP and Professional Development
  • Ensure that NWEA reaches a high level of account penetration in each account, reaching more kids in all districts within an assigned territory
  • Drive revenue growth through acquisition of new, strategic and large Partners
  • Demonstrate strategic ownership of assigned territory through knowledge of funding, state initiatives and regulatory mandates
  • Develop and own a territory strategy to penetrate and grow assigned geographic region
  • P articipate in and facilitate Partner participation in informing NWEA product strategies, design, timelines and development
  • Close collaboration with fellow Account Executives and Account Managers as assigned
  • Travel as required, on average at 50% within southern California region

  • Ability to successfully move opportunities through the sales cycle, negotiate and close sales
  • Proven track record of selling success and ability to exceed personal and team goals
  • Skilled in analyzing and translating complex partner requirements into NWEA business offering, resulting in sound business and relationship decisions
  • Assist in defining and evaluating deliverables, parameters and language for partnership and agreements and contracts
  • Aptitude to inspire, unify and lead cross-organizational teams with strong collaboration skills
  • Consistently apply proven sales methodology (i.e. Miller Heiman, Strategic Selling)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully manage sales relationships, pipeline and opportunities in CRM system (Salesforce preferred)

Education and experience...

  • Minimum B achelor's degree in education, business or a related field required
  • Preferred 3-5 years' field sales or si milar experience; background in selling to the K-12 educational market is highly preferred
  • Experience initiating, acquiring and growing mid-sized to large strategic accounts
  • Experience with NWEA products, services, procedures and implementation preferred
  • Deep understanding of K-12 education industry and assessment

NWEA's Partner Account s group is comprised of over 150 professionals whose mission is to reach state and local education agencies with our products and services . Structured in strategic groups , the Partner Accounts group is comprised of several teams including Strategic Accounts, Stan dard Accounts, State & Government Accounts, National A ccounts, Int ernational Accounts, Cal/Tex Accounts, Specialty Accounts, Sales Operations, Proposals T eam , and Program Management. This role joins the Cal/Tex team servicing large school districts in California and Texas.
