Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Program Coordinator to collaboratively administer the pre and post tests, develop lesson plans and learning topics related in preparation for delivering the assigned curriculum
- Work with the Program Coordinator, Saturday School staff and parents to communicate the individual student plan and track progress on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork related to Saturday School attendance
- Create a child-centered, nurturing, and non-competitive learning environment where children can further develop their academic skills in English language arts, math and science
- Model behaviors that are expected from the children
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current SCSD employee
- Hold strong ethical and integral beliefs as an educator working as a member of a team
- Ability to build strong relationships with and clearly and effectively communicate to all stakeholders
- Yield data demonstrating quality instructional practices and success in promoting student growth
- Hold excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possess a passion for working with students, coupled with an ability to strategically engage with children of different ages and social-emotional capacities as evidenced by observations in one's current role
- Skilled in the use of technology: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite
SCOPE OF COMMITMENT:
- 10 session, Saturday Mornings (during school year).
- Appropriate preparation time for all classes compensated.
