The average number of students per class is approximately 10. Each classroom is assigned a Special Education teacher and a classroom paraprofessional.
Students in the BDLC classrooms participate in a weekly group counseling session with the school psychologist or school social worker. Issues addressed may include anger management, self-esteem, and socialization. Individual counseling is also provided depending on a student's IEP. In addition to weekly counseling, social skills are integrated daily into the curriculum.
Each BDLC classroom is structured so that the learning and social environment provides organization and predictability for the student. Each classroom teacher implements a consistent system of rewards and incentives and employs consistent positive management techniques. The goal of the BDLC program is to provide a small structured learning environment with a focus on helping students develop the necessary coping and socialization skills to gradually transition back to the general education setting.
Pay rate per day- 150 $
