Building Substitute: full-time

St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, a Lasallian Catholic, all-boys high school, announces an opening for a Building Substitute to begin this academic year. The Building Substitute fills in for absent teachers on a daily basis to maintain the quality of instruction at SJCI.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate has the skills to conduct lessons following lesson plans, provide teacher reports, and develop professional relationships with students. This person should have the flexibility and willingness to substitute for every grade level and content area with little or no notice. The desire and ability to teach students of diverse backgrounds on an individual level is also expected.
A bachelor's degree in education is required. Certification is not necessary.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Building Substitute fulfills the lesson plans of absent teachers and manages classroom behavior to ensure that learning is still taking place even though a teacher is absent, fills proctoring and supervisory assignments for teachers when needed, and conducts basic administrative tasks as assigned by the principal when there are no teachers absent.
The Building Substitute reports to the Principal and will work together with students, faculty, and administrators.
This is a 10-month position, 35 hours per week.
