HYA is assisting the Ector County Independent School District, in Odessa, Texas as it offers an excellent opportunity to lead a district alongside a Board that is committed to helping each student achieve his/her potential. The Board of Trustees of the Ector County ISD is seeking a superintendent, who has the ability to provide leadership within an environment committed to academic excellence; college & career readiness; safe & supportive learning environments; and purposeful, timely, two-way communication.

            The superintendent will serve the varied educational needs of approximately 33,000 students with a qualified and dedicated staff of nearly 4,000 across 44 campuses.

            The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees seeks an individual who has demonstrated the ability to improve academic achievement in a diverse district and possesses the leadership skills required to advance this district to its next level of excellence.

            It is expected that a regionally competitive compensation package will be offered.  Screening begins in February, however the slate will be presented to the Board in early March. Mr. Jim Nelson is serving as the Interim Superintendent and will serve until a transition can be made for the new superintendent to begin on July 1, 2019 or sooner.
