For the 2020-21 school year, we will employ over 50 staff members and serve over 400 students in grades 5-12. In spring of 2021 we will graduate our first class of 12th graders and send them off to college.

We are in need of middle school departmental teachers in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts, as well as electives courses, all serving grades 5-8 at our middleschool campus. In your application questions below, please indicate what grades/subjects you are most interested in teaching, as well as any qualifications or endorsements you may have for those.

Requirements
  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrate success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally underserved students, particularly in urban schools.
  • Have an unwavering belief that all students can achieve at the highest academic levels, regardless of demographics.
  • Operate with a strong work ethic and a passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission -driven school culture.
  • Ability to be solutions oriented and approach each day with a sense of possibility.
  • Desire to become a better teacher by joining the Chicago Collegiate family.
  • Develop daily, unit and long-term lesson plans and assessments and assist in the development of curriculum standards and mapping.
  • Teach students in a high quality, engaging way, while also creating and fostering a culture of achievement and community.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Continuously assess student progress, analyze data, and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs and maximize learning.
  • Be prepared to do whatever it takes for students to excel on their journey to and through college, including communicating with students and families regularly via school provided cell phone.
  • Operate with a growth mindset and commit to ongoing professional and personal growth in a collaborative environment.
  • Work well on a trailblazing team, which will continue to expand until the school serves 5-12th graders in the far South Side of Chicago.
  • Have a passion for innovating your instructional practice by using personalized learning and small group instruction.
  • Hold the belief that teachers are the primary drivers of their classroom culture and are a direct contributor to our school's culture.

Nice-To-Haves
