- Develops and maintains a media collection that is vital to the needs of the teachers, administrators and central and divisional personnel; participates as an instructional team member in the selection and identification of media resources, services, or technology' develops media center budgets and procures material, supplies, or equipment needed within the media center.
- Manages the media center programs and supervises media center volunteers.
- Maintains a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging and retrieving all media center materials.
- Recommends and implements media plan, policies and procedures.
- Attends and participates in conferences, workshops, and seminars for continual professional development.
- Researches topics or complies bibliographies for building level staff to assist and provide service to instructional staff; provides guidance to staff concerning copy-write laws and district policies concerning media.
- Administer and/or support the state and local standardized testing processes and policies.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements : CERTIFICATION:
- NSRS5 or SRS5 in Library Media Science or higher; OR Passed the GACE Program Admissions Assessment or have exemption eligibility AND passed the GACE in Library Media Science AND GACE Educator Ethics Program Entry;
EDUCATION:
- A minimum of a Master's degree or higher.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of media specialist experience.
