Classification Classified- Salaried Division/Department Technology Job Category Computer Technician FLSA Exempt Title Computer Technician Qualifications
- One year's experience configuring Windows desktop operating systems preferred
- One year's experience installing PCs in a network environment preferred
- Experience replacing PC components: Hard drives, memory, network cards, etc. preferred
- Basic understanding of IP addressing schemes
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in a customer service role
- Familiarity with wireless networking is a plus
- One year's experience configuring Windows desktop operating systems preferred

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- Configures and installs PCs and associated hardware
- Configures and installs desktop-level software
- Contributes ideas for extending technology in the district
- Troubleshoots desktop-level problems
- Runs CAT6 cable
- Maintains appropriate documentation
- Works and participates as part of a team
- Resolves problems and handles projects in an efficient and courteous manner
- Adheres to district policies
- Maintains confidential material and information appropriately
- Follows software licensing requirements
- Troubleshoots software in use around the district
- Other duties as assigned
