Superintendent, Central Kitsap School District
- Job Type
Central Kitsap School District, located on the scenic Kitsap peninsula across the water from Seattle, is one of Washington state’s most respected school districts. Serving 11,400 students across nineteen schools, Central Kitsap is a diverse, exciting, and highly regarded school system which has enjoyed tremendous school board and superintendent leadership for many years.
We are humbled to be a district that is nationally known for the quality of our schools, and we seek a Superintendent to continue in the tradition of providing outstanding leadership to our students and school community. With strong academics, deep and meaningful partnerships with our various stakeholders, including a strong history of proudly serving the students of our military base neighbors, we invite candidates of outstanding talent to consider this remarkable opportunity.
Such community support is a rarity, and we are grateful to the citizens of Central Kitsap for their generosity. In 2016, voters in our district passed a $220M bond to replace the aging Central Kitsap High and Middle Schools and to build permanent classrooms at Olympic High and Klahowya Secondary Schools. The bond also replaced portable and temporary buildings across the district, modernized technical education classrooms, and allowed for districtwide repairs to roofs, structures, and various electrical and HVAC systems. As the projects near completion, our students and their families marvel at the exquisiteness of these “new” schools.
Please take a moment to learn more about our district. In early January we will establish our Leadership Profile and Desired Characteristics. We would be pleased to engage in a confidential conversation with experienced instructional leaders regarding the Central Kitsap superintendency.
Our vacancy window closes on February 7, 2019 with interviews tentatively scheduled for the last week in February.
