SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Chief Information and Innovation Officer, the Coordinator will supervise a team in the District-wide coordination and deployment of resources to support digital 21st Century learning and teaching across the WCSD. The Coordinator must serve as a strong leader and change agent who is able to implement the District's vision of improved student growth and achievement through the use of technology. The Coordinator will serve as lead project manager for a District-wide digital transformation leveraging classroom technologies to empower 1:1 programs and technology integration initiatives. The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting teachers, administrators, and schools in the District-wide systemization of technology-based learning platforms—specifically Office 365 resources—serving as the primary liaison among WCSD departments. The Coordinator will work collaboratively across offices and departments in the execution of the WCSD technology plan and the strategic plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises assigned staff, evaluates employee job performance, completes and maintains employee documentation, provides employee guidance, schedules employees, and provides operational leadership; manages technical team on a daily basis by coordinating staff responsibilities and activities; develops cross-functional teams and interdepartmental projects; undertakes strategic planning of IT resources and their usage; provides communication to stakeholder groups on current technical issues and changes; develops customer service support strategies; manages and directs the acquisition, installation and maintenance of network electronics, servers, and operating systems; maintains evaluation instruments both for staff and clients; plans, organizes, coordinates, assigns and evaluates the workload of technical staff; maintains effective working relationships with district staff, customers, and outside vendors; plans, designs, installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots, maintains, and evaluates the District network; and serves as a technical resource to IT personnel.
• In collaboration with other offices and departments, the Coordinator will direct and evaluate all technology-related professional learning.
• Oversees the integration of instructional technology at all levels, K-12.
• Involves teachers, parents, educational experts and the community in the development and implementation of instruction technology planning and implementation.
• Creates/revises policies and protocols for acquiring and implementing new software and hardware.
• Develops a process for maintaining inventories and evaluating current technology, technological services and instructional technology in the schools and recommend changes where necessary.
• Oversees personnel in core areas to integrate technology into curriculum goals and objectives, curriculum frameworks, and parent information brochures.
• With the support of the Grant Department, writes and implements grants to fund instructional technology.
• Acts as a liaison between students, faculty/staff, administration, Information Technology Office and Academic Office, community, and state and federal technology and educational experts.
• Oversees professional development in support of the WCSD technology plan, strategic plan, and 21st century competencies.
• Supports execution of office and department plans, including development of process and performance management systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Any combination of education/experience that could likely provide the required knowledge in qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, instructional technology, or a related field.

and

Experience: Five (5) years of leadership experience in instructional technology. Two to three (2-3) years of classroom teaching experience. Evidence of leadership and involvement in the improvement of instructional technology instruction. Experience in working with computer systems in large organizations.

Licenses/Certificates: Possession of a valid Nevada teaching certificate, desirable. Nevada State Administrator's certification is required

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must demonstrate a willingness to travel between schools, and work a flexible schedule.

Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year. New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step of the grade of the position.

This position is a Limited Term position ending June 2021. This position is contingent upon continued funding.
