School Age Group Leader

The Community Group
The Community Group (TCG) is a private, nonprofit organization creating opportunities through education since 1970. TCG manages a range of programs, including a network of early childhood and out-of-school time programs, a network of charter and district public schools, consulting and training programs, and a child care resource and referral program, Child Care Circuit.

Community Day Learning
Community Day Learning serves children and families of Greater Lawrence with high quality, nonprofit programs ranging from fun, developmentally appropriate learning experiences to healthy meals to physical activity and social learning experiences. We are dedicated to promoting the healthy development of children.

Role
The School Age Group Leader is responsible for the day-to-day teaching and supervision of the children in the program. This is an FLSA Non-Exempt position, reporting to the Site Coordinator.

Responsibilities
• Assist in maintaining and environment that supports and encourages the growth and development of children;
• Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children in the group;
• Provide a program inclusive to all children and families regardless of lifestyle and belief system;
• In conjunction with the Director, plan and implement weekly curriculum and program activities;
• Maintain a consistent and appropriate daily time schedule of activities, outdoor play time and snacks;
• Supervise the daily preparation and serving of snacks, planning and preparation of cooking activities and distribution and cleanup of lunch during school vacations and summer;
• Assist in maintaining and updating children's health, safety and emergency records.
• Provide transportation for the children as needed;
• Devise and execute a weekly cleaning plan for the space. (Except basic cleaning such as washing floors, vacuuming rugs and cleaning bathrooms as they are done by the janitor);
• Must be available to work during regularly scheduled school vacations and in summer;
• Conduct thirty-day and six-month evaluation meetings with the parents of each child in the group. This may be done in conjunction with the Director/Assistant Director;
• Maintain an attitude of flexibility so that one is prepared to assist the Director/Assistant Director in immediate and necessary tasks;
• Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and on-going trainings;
• Complete all required certifications; and
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications
• Experience working with school-aged children;
• Willingness to learn about children's growth and development;
• Must possess the qualifications required for their positions in accordance with EEC regulations;
• Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and
Care;
• Evidence of physical examination within one year prior to employment;
• Evidence of immunizations against Measles, Mumps and Rubella; and
• Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.

Salary: $15 to $16 Per Hour
