Principal

Seacoast School of Technology

Exeter, NH

School Administrative Unit 16 is located in one of the most beautiful areas on the New Hampshire Seacoast. The Seacoast School of Technology is a state-of-the-art Career and Technical Education center that is located in the historic section of Exeter, a town, boasting a  year-round population of nearly 15,000 residents comprised by a combination of seniors, young families, and millennials.  Exeter is ideally situated 50 miles North of Boston, MA and 50 miles south of Portland, ME along Interstate 95.

We are seeking an outstanding instructional leader to serve as the next Principal of the Seacoast School of Technology (SST) beginning July 1, 2019.  The SST is an innovative regional Career and Technical Center serving over 800 high school students from Regional 18 - Epping, Exeter, Newmarket, Raymond, Sanborn Regional and Winnacunnet high schools.  SST offers twelve (12) different elective programs specializing in hands-on, project-based learning experiences that lead students to explore college and career pathways. Students attend their home school for part of the school day and are then transported to participate in one of three sessions at SST.  Students are highly involved in their program’s CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations) and compete at the regional and national levels.

Many of the programs offered at SST allow students to earn college credit and industry-recognized certifications while fulfilling high school graduation requirements. All programs qualify students for the New Hampshire Scholars program. The school enjoys partnerships with many area businesses and nonprofit organizations which helps promote a robust network of internships, job shadows, and career placement opportunities.

We are seeking a CTE professional who demonstrates, at best, the following five components with respect to their approach to the position of Principal:

  • reflects a high level of integrity and character that can be observed and modeled through visible behaviors while interacting with students, staff and families.
  • has ample mainstream classroom teaching experience in a content area that reflects knowledge of research-based instructional and practical assessment strategies.
  • has a broad base of knowledge regarding career and technical curriculum with experience in building positive relationships within a network of business and non-profit support.
  • background in terms of interests, professional affiliations, and experiences is varied enough to bring diversity to our district leadership team.

The deadline for applying to this position is January 18, 2019 and the interview process will begin on January 30, 2019.

Minimum Requirements:  Master’s degree or higher in education leadership with certification (or eligible) as a New Hampshire School Principal and Vocational Director; demonstrated administrative and collaborative leadership experience at the secondary level; a passion for helping students grow and learn; and, an ability to manage change while strengthening relationships and building networks within the community.

Please submit a cover letter, resume, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three current letters of recommendation (written with the past six months), and New Hampshire certifications to:
