Department of Special Education has the following openings:

School Psychologists
Certification/Requirements:

• NYS School Psychologist Certification with Bilingual Extension. Ph.D. and BCBA preferred. Experience with special education students in an educational setting preferred.

School Social Workers
Certification/Requirements:

• NYS School Social Worker Certification with Bilingual Extension. LCSW required. Experience with special education students in an educational setting preferred.

Speech & Language Disabilities Teachers
Certification/Requirements:

• NYS Certification as TSHH or TSSLD with Bilingual Extension. NYS Speech & Language Pathologist license required. Experience with special education students in an educational setting preferred.

Special Education Teachers
Certification/Requirements:

• NYS Special Education Certification, or:
  • Students with Disabilities 7-12 - Biology, Earth Science, General Science, English

English Teacher
Certification/Requirements:

• NYS English Language Arts 7-12 Certification.
• Assignment:
  • Regional Alternative HS Program Monday & Wednesday 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

TESOL Teacher
Qualifications:

• NYS English To Speakers Of Other Languages Certification

Special Education Aides
Certification/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Teaching Assistants
Certification/Requirements:

• 60 credits and must apply for certification when appointed.
