Job Description
The Frances C. Richmond Middle School community in Hanover, NH, is seeking a skilled and caring educator to serve as its next principal. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a talented staff and a supportive community. The school serves approximately 350 students, in grades six through eight. Richmond Middle School is among the highest performing middle schools in New Hampshire and is part of School Administrative Unit 70's Dresden School District, the nation's first interstate school district, which enrolls students from both Hanover and Norwich, VT.
Situated in the beautiful Upper Valley of the Connecticut River, a short drive to the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the area offers innumerable recreational opportunities. The proximity of Dartmouth College provides rich cultural opportunities, and the cities of Boston, MA, Portland, ME, and Burlington, VT are nearby.
The principal is responsible for the instructional leadership and day-to-day management of the school, the oversight of all certified staff members and instructional assistants, the development and management of an operating budget of nearly $7.4 million, and maintenance of the strong relationship between the school and the Hanover / Norwich community.
Minimum qualifications for the position include a relevant Masters Degree and eligibility for New Hampshire principal certification.
