Teacher Assistant Elementary School - Computers
QUALIFICATIONS: A. Valid NYS Teaching Certification - preferably in Elementary Education
General Responsibilities
Assist teachers with instructional technology needs when using the computer labs. Assist teachers with improving students' computer skills and integrating technology into projects as set forth by the district's technology plan. Assist staff members as needs arise with the use of instructional technology within the assigned building. Provide supervision of students within the computer labs in the absence of the teacher. Maintain the computer labs by assuring the hardware, software, and operating systems are in order and the most recent updates have been applied; manage records, materials, and equipment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Good knowledge of methods, materials, practices, and equipment used in the computer labs; ability to establish good relationships with teachers, staff, students, and others; familiarity with classroom routine; tact; courtesy; good judgment; physical abilities commensurate with the demands of the position.
Physical Requirements
Significant standing; some walking, lifting, and moving of equipment. Must have the ability to lift 40 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS: A. Valid NYS Teaching Certification - preferably in Elementary Education
- Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with classroom staff
- Primary and/or intermediate level classroom instruction experience preferred
- Preference given to candidates experienced in assisting students and teachers with the integration of instructional technology in a school setting
- Must have excellent classroom management skills

- Assist classroom teachers in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve instructional technology objectives and enhance the students' educational experience.
