Description

The Budget Analyst will s upport the budget, forecast, and repor ting needs of the organization. Partner with Accounting, Procurement, and departmental budget leads to forecast and monitor institutional spending.

Your Next Challenge...

  • Participate in the administration of budgets, planning and forecasting activities , and month end closing procedures.
  • Prepare scheduled and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and alignmen t with the budget, forecast, and strategic priorities.
  • Work with all levels of the company to become an internal expert on our organization's cost and revenue drivers as well as key operational components.

Your Skills & Abilities...

  • Fundamental knowledge of financial and accounting principles, particularly in the technology industry .
  • Solid understanding of financial statement s and their interconnectedness; ability to foresee the impact of business decisions to the financial statements.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis, plus the ability to creatively apply financial knowledge based on context of the business problem.
  • P roblem-solving skills including the ability to successfully execute solutions across many functions within and outside the organization .
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; proficient at self-review.
  • Ability to work independently in fast paced environment with many priority changes working on multiple projects simultaneously ; reliably adhere to deadlines.
  • Exceptional skills in partnering with key stakeholders across functional areas, and in developing and maintaining long- term supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas with clarity.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office with specific expertise in Excel.
  • Working ability with Adaptive Insights and/or NetSuite preferred.

Your Education & Experience...

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required ; CPA desirable .
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years relevant financial analyst and/or accounting experience in a commercial business environment; experience with a technology organization (or for an accounting firm serving the technology industry) preferred.
  • Experience with project accounting and /or grant accounting a plus.

About the Finance Team...

The Finance team serves in three major roles at NWEA: financial operations and supporting activities; financial performance management and measurement; and fiduciary stewardship of organizational resources. The Revenue Operations team works within the Finance team and in collaboration with Sales Operations, Partner Accounts, and other teams to ensure effective order management, billing accuracy, financial completeness, data quality for organizational metrics, and pricing administration.
