POSITION: ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL
Hamilton Avenue Elementary School
A wonderfully diverse school of 330 students with a vibrant and dedicated faculty and devoted parents and families. Hamilton Avenue is a STEM designed magnet theme school. A Principal is sought with an excitement for leading a faculty through whole-school change, a passion for STEM education and the use of the inquiry approach to instruction. Hamilton Avenue was a lead school in the district's path breaking digital learning initiative; whereby, all staff and students work in a "one-to-one" digital environment. Candidates should have experience in collaborative leadership, high expectations for faculty, staff, and all students, and be able to inspire students, faculty, staff, and whole-school change.
QUALIFICATIONS:
RESPONSIBLE TO: Deputy Superintendent of Schools
SALARY RANGE: $169,668 to $176,738 (Depending on experience)
WORK PERIOD: Twelve-month assignment (225 working days).
The nature of the position demands some evening commitments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous administrative experience in a school, preferably as a Principal
- Currently holds a Connecticut Intermediate Administration or Supervision certification (092)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with colleagues, faculty, students and the adult community
- Excellent understanding of personalized learning, educational best practices and the use of data to inform instruction
- Ability to inspire and lead
- A passion for STEM education and the inquiry approach to instruction
