Summary: This position is responsible for the development of materials and manuals and for the training of permanent and temporary district Behavior Modification Technicians (BMT) and behavior support staff. The position is responsible for evaluating the efficacy of designated Alternative Education Department processes and programs. It also acts as the subject matter expert on procedures for gathering and disseminating information regarding alternative education programming and services.

Essential Duties:
  • Provides specific subject matter expertise on procedures and information to be disseminated regarding all Alternative Education and Safe Schools Department programming and services.
  • Develops presentations, training materials and manuals for specific issues of interest to the Alternative Education and Safe Schools Department
  • Acts as primary liaison between the department and district schools
  • Provides in-depth responses and resolves escalated operational issues; handles situations that require intervention and prepares written responses when necessary.
  • Responsible for reviewing designated monthly reports & data entry and addresses errors as necessary.
  • Conducts professional development for district staff( including temporary staff)
  • Provide behavior support to district schools

Education and Experience:

Minimum:
  • Associate's Degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in alternative education programming
  • Two years of experience in training/teaching

Desirable:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Science, Education or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in alternative education programming
  • Four (4) years of experience in training
  • NCI Instructor Certification

Licensing / Certification Requirements
  • Ability to obtain NCI certification
