PURPOSE OF JOB: The Enterprise Application Specialist performs activities related to the support and operation of the District's repository of enterprise systems; including, but not limited to, document management software, staff and student records software, business/finance software, and associated application databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and shares a strong working knowledge of applications used at the department or enterprise level;
Carries out applications analysis at the department level;
Participates in application installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance;
Participates in the installation and support of database management systems;
Participated in application deployment plans;
Develops reports using SQL and tools such as Crystal Reports and/or Oracle Report Services;
Prepares handbooks, manuals and other training related materials;
Implementing corrective action to support data integrity of the application software;
Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents;
Troubleshoots application software for the purpose of isolating bugs, resolving issues and training users;
Assist in maintaining database operations and returning disrupted systems to normal operations;
Stays current on new application software technologies for the application(s) supported;
Works with departments to gather requirements for new and existing applications;
Performs other related duties as assigned, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent experience preferred;
2-4 years in information services and technology support-related field or equivalent work in a in a mid-range enterprise environment supporting many applications;
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL;
Intermediate level experience in MSOffice Suite, including importing, exporting and other data management routines, Excel (intermediate/advanced level)
Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
