Civitas Education Partners (CEP) is seeking reflective and innovative teachers for the 2018-2019 school year! CEP is a school management organization that operate four campuses of Chicago International Charter School (CICS) - CICS Ralph Ellison High School, CICS Northtown Academy High School, CICS Wrightwood Elementary School, and CICS ChicagoQuest High School. Position Title: School Social Worker (Elementary school)
Reports to: School Director and/or Director of Student Services
Position Summary:
Informed by the school's mission, the school social workers will partner with students, parents, teachers, and the school as a whole to support the social, emotional, academic, and medical needs of the students and staff. The school social worker will work as an integral member of the student intervention team to identify at risk students, define needs, identify resources, and implement interventions to better support student needs. The school social worker will provide direct social work services to individual students and groups of students that meet their individual needs. The school social worker will communicate with parents to learn additional information that supports the school's work with students and to provide resources or counsel related to supporting the student. The school social worker will partner with teachers to identify systemic challenges for students either in classrooms or in the school as a whole and design programming to meet the needs of these challenges to be delivered in a classroom, group or individual setting.
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Social Work and appropriate IL certifications (Type 73) are required. Strength of academic background, professional experience, interview performance, and references will be considered during the selection process.
