TITLE: Gear Up Program Assistant Manager CLASSIFICATION: Classified FLSA: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Grants SALARY: Administrative Salary Scale WORK YEAR: 12 month REPORTS TO: Director of Career & College Readiness
SUMMARY
Assist the Director of Career & College Readiness with the daily operations of the district's GEAR UP program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree Minimum of three years' experience working with disadvantaged students or students in a secondary school aged educational setting; experience developing academic intervention programs, strong organizational and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in education, student development, counseling or administration. Candidates who have experience working with low-income, first generation students or programs or have overcome barriers similar to target population. Professional experience working with a TRIO program or other federal grant programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of : Student support services Program development and planning Data collection and management Student safety policies and procedures Work in a team environment with parents, teachers and other stakeholders
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: (May not include all duties performed): Design an exciting and creative college access program. Provide outreach to potential partners to secure support for GEAR UP programming. Coordinate all college tours for GEAR UP students and parents. Maintain appropriate documentation of services provided to program participants. Assist with the completion of the Annual Performance Report With GEAR UP Program Manager's assistance, closely monitor program's budget. Be actively involved in district activities/committees which directly impact/reflect the interests of program participants. Evaluate the impact of services provided to program participants. Monitor and document the academic progress of program participants. Encourage students to enroll in a four-year college or university after high school graduation. Assist students in the successful completion of college eligibility requirements and in becoming college-ready. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Adhere to district/school policies and procedures. Other duties as necessary to the position.
